The Pella City Council approved several resolutions on the agenda at their regular meeting Tuesday. The session started with recognition of the newest city employees with Pella Community Ambulance, which officially became a city-operated service on Friday.
Resolutions for a public restroom access agreement with the Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance, a final plat for Lely Innovation Park, a memorandum of agreement with Condrey and Associates to review the city’s compensation and classification system, and scheduling public hearings for West Washington Street and Fifield Road intersection improvements and the apron expansion at the Pella Municipal airport were all approved. An ordinance amending the boundaries of the M1 District to include certain property at 2017 Old Highway 163 was also adopted.
A committee formed to develop a 175th anniversary celebration for the community also presented a funding request to the council for proposed festivities during the first full weekend in August.
During policy and planning following regular business, the council discussed residential parking requirements in the Central Business District, private signage in the public right-of-way, city code modifications as it relates to residential solar systems, and the city’s dental plan.
