Work on the Indianola Square Reconstruction Project continued with Phase 2 work over the last week, including the completion of sidewalk installation on the east side of Howard to the intersection of Ashland and the storm sewer on Ashland.

Work this week included the installation of water main/yard hydrants on Ashland and Howard, and subgrade prep work took place on both streets. Streetlights were installed on Howard, and the goal is to have Howard open by next week.

Due to the rain received over the last 48 hours, Absolute Concrete will be pushing the closure of the remainder of Ashland Avenue to Monday, July 18. On the morning of Monday, July 18, the following areas will be closed to vehicular traffic:

· Ashland Avenue between B Street and 1st Street

· The intersection of Ashland Avenue and Howard Street

· The half-block on Howard north of Ashland Avenue

· The intersection of Ashland Avenue and Buxton Street

· The half-block on Buxton north of Ashland Avenue Construction will also progress on the installation of subdrain and rock chambers on Ashland between 1st St. and Howard.
