The fiscal year 2022 came to a close on July 1st for local government and school districts, as FY23 begins. City of Indianola Assistant City Manager Andy Lent tells KNIA News the city is in good shape financially even with several major projects on the city budget.
“We have come off a very strong and busy year as far as growth and development. We have new building on Jefferson Way, some new housing developments going into place, and we are finishing up the Downtown Square Reconstruction Project, and we are in really good shape. We have the new sewer plant coming online, and that is something we will have to keep an eye on it as far as costs to run the plant since it’s much larger than we previously had, but there are also cost savings there as well. We are keeping an eye on it and monitoring it as we move forward.”
