The Marion County Fair is approaching and a new event will be held on Sunday, July 17, at 4 pm in the livestock show pavilion. Bellana Putz, event creator of the Pee Wee Pig Showmanship spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the event.
“This event is a collaboration connecting kids that are not old enough to be in 4-H with High School, and Middle School-aged kids in the 4-H program. We pair the kids together ahead of the county fair so that they can go to the farm and be shown animals at the fair with their mentor. The core objective is to teach young people whether they are connected to agriculture or not as a protein source and letting them see what the process is, how raising livestock is, and how 4-h is.”
The Marion County Fair is July 15-21.
