Pella is one win away from the school’s fourth-ever state baseball tournament appearance, but to get to Iowa City, they’ll have to solve #3 in 3A and Little Hawkeye Conference champions Grinnell this evening.

The Dutch hung close with the Tigers in all three of their regular season matchups in 2022, falling by no more than three runs in any of those games. But Grinnell remains as dangerous as any team in Class 3A — their team ERA of 1.24 is nearly a run-and-a-half better than the entire class and opponents are hitting just .176 against the four-loss Tigers. The team’s 112 stolen bases are 9th most among 3A schools.

Coverage of Pella vs. Grinnell substate baseball is live on 92.1 KRLS from the home of the Tigers at 6:30 this evening.
