The Central College men’s track and field team earned the All-Academic Team from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and was joined by the women’s team and 14 individual student-athletes in earning academic honors.

Eight Central men and six Dutch women were recognized for the individual award. To qualify, an athlete must post a minimum 3.30 GPA and qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship, finish the regular season ranked in the top 50 in an individual event or in the top 35 in a relay event.

Will DeHaan achieved the feat for third time in his career. Lucas Heitz, Noah Jorgenson, and Brody Klein were all repeat honorees. Theo Baldus, Thomas Spoehr, Adam Sylvia, and Carter Tryon were all first-time selections

Malory Jones, Krissa Larson, Abby Marr, and Caroline McMartin are all repeat winners from 2021. Taryn Hintz and Megan Johnson were first-time honorees.

Under coach Brandon Sturman, the women’s squad posted a 3.628 GPA for the year and earned the team award for the seventh year in a row and 15th time overall. The men topped the 3.100 standard for the first time with a team GPA of 3.127.
