The Marion County Fair begins today and there are plenty of things to do and see. Ashton Wells, Marion County Coordinator spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about several events in the Bingley Building.

“A really fun event is the Grilled Cheese Challenge. This contest is different because not only do they have to create the best grilled cheese, but there are different ingredients they have to use in their sandwiches. Another great event is a poultry contest that is open to anyone. Even if you do not know a lot about poultry, it’s still a good event to come see and learn. On Sunday is one of my favorite contests, which is the Baby contest. I always enjoy going there. On Monday we will have trivia contests and another really fun event is Tuesday and it’s the blender bike challenge. Teams will have to blend things but the blender is powered by someone pedaling a bike. There are a lot of great events in the Bingley Building.”

The Marion County Fair runs through Thursday, July 21.
