The Knoxville City Council approved a rezoning request for the property at 714 W. Rock Island Street. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the request.
“We passed the first reading of the request from the Public Housing Agency at our last meeting. So we were looking at approving the second reading and waiving the third. After further discussion, we came to a compromise on the approval of the rezoning with certain conditions. If the building stops being used for offices by the Public Housing Agency, the zoning of the property would revert back to the original R-3 zoning and the council approved the second reading and waived the third reading.”
The next City Council meeting will be on Monday, August 1.
