The Pella Christian softball team needed many different players to step up and produce this season, and two players who stepped up in a big way were freshman Emma Eekhoff and Faith Kacmarynski.
As an eighth grader, Eekhoff had a .245 batting average, .333 on base percentage and 4 home runs. This season those numbers rose to a .345 batting average, .435 on base percentage, and five homers including a walk-off blast against Pella.
Kacmarynski saw a major jump in her numbers at the plate in 2022. Faith posted a .200 batting average, .319 on base percentage, and no doubles as an eighth grader. As a freshman those numbers rose to a .419 batting average, a .476 on base percentage, and eight doubles all of which were top three for the Eagles.
Eekhoff, Kacmarynski and the returning Eagles will look to improve their record in 2023 from their 10-22 overall mark this season.
