Counting down the top 10 moments of the Simpson College athletics year of 2021-22, beginning with number 10.
It was a season where the ball just didn’t bounce the way of Simpson men’s basketball often, whether it was injuries, COVID-19 restrictions, or playing in one of the toughest conferences in D-III, the Storm struggled to find opportunities to succeed.
One of the ways they did succeed however, was a dominating defensive effort on the road in Cedar Rapids where they defeated American Rivers Conference semifinalist Coe College.
The Storm could not miss offensively, shooting over 58% from the field and 43% from three-point range, but it was on the other end where the Storm would find the victory. Simpson held the high-flying Kohawks to just 29 second half points and 64 overall, one of their lowest outputs of the season. Storm guard Andrew Curran led the squad with 26 points.
