Superintendent Ted Ihns began his tenure for the Indianola Community School District at the beginning of the month, and has spent the summer not only preparing for the upcoming school year, but getting to know the community. Ihns tells KNIA News taking over in summer has allowed him to meet students, families, and staff in a less formal way.
“I’ve been getting to know faculty members, staff members, and being out in the community, we are really enjoying our time here. It’s a great community, the support for the schools is second to none. I had the opportunity to watch the kids participate in both the baseball and softball state tournaments, that doesn’t happen very often in the State of Iowa where both schools go. So it’s been a really good start to my tenure, and I’m really looking forward to meeting more families, more students, and moving forward to wherever the school year takes us to.”
