The Knoxville Back to School Bash was held Wednesday in the high school commons.

Knoxville School Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA-KRLS News that it was a great time to get students registered for the start of school August 25th.

One of the tables at the event was for the Knoxville Public Library. Connie Davids, a former elementary school teacher in the district, has been at the library for five years and she told KNIA-KRLS News why they were at the Back to School Bash.

“I’m here just to let people know that our library offers services for all ages. We’re excited to have people come to our library with a new school year starting. We hope people will consider us a resource as well as anyone in the community.”

The First United Methodist Church in Knoxville handed out backpacks and school supplies to help families get prepared for the start of school.

Approximately 300 families showed up for the Back to School Bash.
