The U.S Army Corp of Engineers have released information about the economic impact of Lake Red Rock on the area. At the Marion County CONNECT Economic Development Quarterly meeting last week, Hugh Howe, Natural Resources Specialist with the Corp told attendees the Corp manages six campgrounds, four boat ramps and seven day use areas.

Visitation numbers reached 1,130,255 (70th nationally). The total recreation fees came to $655,000 (up 28 percent).

A total of 99 volunteers put in nearly 22,000 hours of service with an economic value of $627,600. The FY 2021 Economic Impact for the area totaled $27.4 million.
