Dixie Gebhardt House

The City of Knoxville held an information session and tour of the Dixie Gebhardt House yesterday at the Knoxville Public Library.

The session was for any individuals or organizations who were interested in acquiring, rehabilitating and operating the building as a historic property to submit a formal proposal to the city. Members of the public, the library board and staff, and city staff and council members were present.

Knoxville Economic Development Director Glenn Lyons hosted the session and explained the submission process. Lyons tells KNIA/KRLS News about how the information session turned out.

We had about a dozen people in the meeting…I walked people through the expression of interest requirements for submitting a proposal; there weren’t any questions, so I guess they were fairly self-explanatory. We’re walking through the old house; we’re going to look at the first floor where the chamber was, and then go upstairs to the apartment on the second floor, from there anyone who wants to submit an expression of interest has about six weeks until September 16 to do so.

Submissions can be emailed to Glenn Lyons by the deadline of Friday, September 16, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.
