While it might be hard to imagine with this week’s heat, the holiday season will be here before we know it, but an annual Christmas-themed tradition in Pella is currently on hold at the Pella Opera House.

Executive Director Cyndi Atkins says after some damage was discovered last winter in the Barton Theatre Organ, the board has approved contracts with companies to inspect and review the instrument to discover any other potential issues.

Atkins says this puts the annual Davis and Friends: Christmas at the Opera House show on hold for now, especially if any significant repairs are needed. But she emphasized the need to proceed with the review, especially to make sure long-term they have the option to hold shows with the instrument.
