Counting down the top 10 moments of the Simpson College athletics year of 2021-22, continuing with number 4.
Simpson athlete junior Spencer Moon had a special season, qualifying for the NCAA D-III National Tournament not just once or twice, but three times competing against the nation’s best.
Moon and teammate Harry Dudley qualified to the D-III Cross Country Championships in the fall, placing 118th with a time of 24:57.5.
Over the winter, Moon clocked a 10th place finish in the 3,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, finishing just two spots shy of All-American honors. And then qualified again in the spring, as Moon ended his stellar junior campaign with a 17th place finish in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA D-III Outdoor Championships.
