The #3 moment on the countdown of the top 10 sports moments at Central College this past school year goes to Shandon Akeo, who wrapped up his wrestling career for the Dutch as a two-time All-American on March 12th with a third-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships.

After winning his quarterfinal match in overtime, the extra time wasn’t as kind to Akeo in the semifinals, as the fifth year senior lost 5-3 to No. 7 Carlos Champagne of Wabash College (Ind.). Akeo rallied in a big way to finish the day with a pair of falls to close out his time in the red and white. He pinned Riley Parker from Washington & Lee University (Va.) in 6:45 and No. 2 Samuel Braswell from Averett University (Va.) in 4:12.
