The PACT Act passed the Senate 86-11 Tuesday night, August 2. The PACT Act is a bill aimed at protecting veterans exposed to toxic materials during their service.
Michael Braman of Knoxville is the past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Iowa. Over the course of his 19 year career, Braman helped execute over 600 missions in Afghanistan and Bosnia.
Braman became a statewide and national spokesperson on the issue, urging people to contact their representatives and tell them to vote for the bill.
Braman told KNIA/KRLS News Tuesday evening about how he felt about the passage of the bill.
“Today’s passage of the PACT Act is a landmark victory for veterans of all ages, of all conflicts and their families. It was a historic day for veterans.”
