The 2022 Norwalk Athletic Booster Club Golf Benefit will go down as the most successful fundraiser in the history of the event.

Held Friday at the Legacy Golf Club in Norwalk, the outing featured a full registry of 36 teams and 144 golfers. According to first-year Norwalk Activities Director Josh Tobey, the event raised at least $22,000, which would be a new tournament record.

The day even included a hole-in-one as new Warrior volleyball coach John Fulton aced hole number 7.

Tobey tells KNIA Sports that a combination of fantastic planning by the booster club and warm, but nice, weather made for a memorable day.

“The whole crew did such a great job planning it that I think when it comes to the day of [the event] that just makes things a lot easier,” Tobey said. “Folks were having fun, golfing for a good cause, competing a little bit.

“Man, the weather cooperated. It wasn’t too hot… We’re very blessed to have a booster club like we do here in Norwalk that is willing to put a lot of sweat equity into that event and make it what it is.”

The Norwalk Athletic Booster Club assists each year in the funding of middle school and high school athletics and activities, including the purchase of uniforms and equipment for more than 20 programs.
