The Pella School Board held their first regular meeting of the new academic year Monday.
A review of the district’s test data from the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress was held, and showed significant improvement in proficiency among 3rd graders, a group that was heavily impacted by COVID-19-related closures. The board also reviewed legislative priorities for the upcoming session in January as part of their membership with the Iowa Association of School Boards.
The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with Central College, an agreement with the City of Pella for a School Resource Officer, a lease with Shoot-It Basketball Academy, and change to Policy 708 in the district’s record keeping policies.
