Shark Racing has had an incredible run at the Knoxville Raceway in the last week. Logan Schuchart won the Capitani Classic on Sunday, he then backed it up with a Knoxville Nationals preliminary night win on Wednesday. Teammate Jacob Allen made it three wins in a row for Shark Racing at Knoxville Thursday night in night two of the 61st Running of the Nos Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals heard live on KNIA. Allen jumped out to a quick lead and looked to run away with it, but Brad Sweet hunted him down and bothered Allen for the final ten laps before Allen held him off. Carson Macedo completed the podium. Allen told KNIA/KRLS Sports, it was a great thing to see Shark sweep the first two nights of the Nationals.

Allen: “I was telling Logan I could throw up before this feature, you put the pressure on me to win this feature. What would it be like for Shark Racing to sweep the preliminary nights? What an amazing accomplishment that was.”

Austin McCarl was 4th and Kyle Larson roared from 22nd starting position, out of the B-Main to get 5th. The top 16 drivers in points are now locked in and just as strange as the first two nights have been, two drivers are on the front row of the Saturday night finale that may be somewhat of a surprise. Austin McCarl, a weekly driver at Knoxville, will start on the pole, with Tyler Courtney alongside in the front two. Also raising eyebrows in the A-Main is J.J. Hickle starting 10th, and Tasker Phillips starting 15th. The top 26 in points are locked into either the A or the B-Mains, with 27-through-101st in points coming back tonight to race in the Hard Knox night. The top four from tonight’s A-Main will automatically advance to the back of Saturday’s championship race. Live coverage is on KNIA with Live Track Side at 5:00 and Race Nights Live at 7:00.
