Indianola Parks and Rec will continue an annual tradition held since 2008, the Cardboard Boat Races at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center later this month. Participants build boats using only cardboard and duct tape, then try to navigate them across the pool. The event will be held on the final day of the 2022 season for the aquatic center, Sunday, August 21st.

The Aquatic Center will be open for swimming from 1-3pm, then close briefly before the races begin at 3:30. Admission to the races is free for both spectators and participants.
