A lighter agenda awaits the Pella City Council Tuesday evening for their second regular meeting of the month.

New Pella Police Officer Mitchell Monarchino will be sworn in by Pella Mayor Don DeWaard. Monarchino was raised in Florida before attending college and running track at Central, earning a degree in Exercise Science at Central College in 2010. He worked in the Pella Community School District for 10 years as an IT professional before he was hired as a Des Moines Police Officer in September 2021 and is a Certified Peace Officer in the State of Iowa.

The council will also receive an extensive update from Missouri River Energy Services about ongoing operations at the Hydroelectric Power Plant at Lake Red Rock.
