The Indianola football team’s season came to a close in the quarterfinal round of the class 4A playoffs in 2021, and with the end of the season came players graduating that will need to be replaced in the lineup. The Indians are set to bring back quarterback Bennett Brueck and top receiver Drew Kingery, but will need to replace their top rusher in terms of yards and touchdowns from Kael Kolarik. Kolarik led the squad with 784 yards and 13 of the 20 touchdowns scored on the ground, and head coach Eric Kluver says he is a special type of player that doesn’t come around a program very often. The Indians bring back second leading rusher Matthew Edgington, who rushed for 394 yards and two scores.
