The Norwalk volleyball team’s 2022 schedule under first-year head coach John Fulton will feature five home games, three conference road matches and six regular-season tournaments.

The Warriors will compete at Saturday’s Johnston scrimmage before opening the season Tuesday, August 23, with a home game against Bondurant-Farrar.

Norwalk’s Little Hawkeye Conference home games include: August 30 vs. Pella, September 6 vs. Oskaloosa, September 20 vs. Grinnell and October 4 vs. Indianola, which is also Senior Night.

The Warriors will play Little Hawkeye road games at Newton (Sept. 13), at Dallas Center-Grimes (Sept. 27) and at Pella Christian (Oct. 10).

Tournaments on the schedule include the Southeast Polk Quad August 25, the ADM Invite September 1, the Waukee Invite September 17, the Nevada Tournament September 24, the Little Hawkeye Tournament October 13 and the Winterset Tournament October 15.

Class 4A Regionals are set for Tuesday, October 18, Thursday, October 20, and Tuesday, October 25.

Norwalk finished 23-18 overall last year and placed fourth in the Little Hawkeye standings with a record of 4-3. The Warriors advanced to the 4A regional finals with wins over Carlisle and Winterset before losing at Cedar Rapids Xavier.

The Warriors graduated six seniors off the 2021 squad, including kill leader Abigail Brenizer, dig leader Camryn McKay and assist and ace leader Cate Backstrom.
