A former CEO of Vermeer Corporation has died. The company announced this morning that current Chair Emeritus Bob Vermeer, a second generation family member, passed away after a battle with cancer.

Vermeer served as CEO from 1989 to 2003 and as president of Vermeer Charitable Foundation, and was the son of founder Gary Vermeer.

“Bob loved people and his passion for others will continue to be a lasting legacy at Vermeer,” read an official statement.
