The Indianola City Council received a comprehensive report on the state of the city finances after fiscal year 2022 came to a close in July from Chief Financial Officer Andy Lent at their meeting Monday. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News he has had a chance to look at the city budget and financial situation with fresh eyes coming in, and despite large ongoing projects and elevated expenses, the city is in a good situation.

“The city is doing very well financially. It is unique times with inflation going up and so we do want to make sure we are safeguarding and treating sacred the public trust that we have and the finances that we have available. The city is in a good position financially right now, and we were able to see a great report on each of the revenues we have and where the city stands.”
