Last season, the Pella Christian volleyball team finished the year just one game shy of a .500 winning percentage with a 19-20 record. Tasked with trying to produce the Eagles second winning season in the last three years will be a young but experienced squad.

Pella Christian returns just two players who started in at least half of the team’s games last year but have an additional six players who saw action at the varsity level. While many of the girls are adjusting to new roles, the Eagles are hopeful the adjustment period will be short-lived. Pella Christian senior Cara Veenstra says that team is working hard to continually raise their level of play throughout the season.

“In practice and in the weight room we’re just constantly encouraging each other to work harder and push ourselves because the more we push ourselves in the preseason, in the weight room, and in the gym, it’s just really going to help us so that we can keep going up and not plateau during the season.”

The Eagles pursuit of their second winning season in three years begins August 27th at the Bondurant-Farrar tournament.
