The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad will need to look for a play maker this season. Cole Metz, the Saints do everything player from last season has graduated, so Coach Pat Ferguson is looking at Logan Godfrey. Ferguson tells KNIA Sports Godfrey will be counted on to be the Mr. Everything this season.
Ferguson: “He is definitely the one big threat on offense, when he touches the ball and if we give him a hole he can outrun anyone in the district.”
Godfrey, who was a part of the Saints State Qualifying Track and Field Squad this past spring is the statistical leader in just about everything. He gained 885 total yards last season. Add in his return yards and his all-purpose yardage jumps to 1,081. The big question facing the Saints and Coach Ferguson is will there be a line to block for him. Ferguson adds the line will be young and a bit undersized this season. Melcher-Dallas opens up next Friday at Mormon Trail.
