After having just 35 players a season ago, the Pleasantville Football team was thankful to see an increase in participation this fall. The Trojans have 43 guys on the roster this year. While an additional eight players may not seem like much, Pleasantville Head Coach Mack Jorth says it’s hard to express how impactful those eight players are for the team’s depth.
“You can’t state how important is. The numbers game is huge and the sport of football, and every sport wants depth, you want more and more people out, so it is great to see the numbers up 8 to 10. We are also greedy as football coaches. We want more. I was hoping to see that 48 to 50 range, but the 43 we have are great. They’re doing a wonderful job and it is wonderful to see a little bit more depth.”
The Trojans open the season one week from today on August 26th at Lynnville-Sully.
