Frances Kirkwood celebrated her 100th birthday Friday, August 19. Her big day started bright and early at the Knoxville Recreation Center with a water fitness class prior to 8 a,m.

Angie Jones, Wellness Supervisor at the Knoxville Recreation Center said Frances is the lone 100-year-old who is involved in the class. 

Frances told KNIA/KRLS News how active she remains at 100 years of age, “I take swimming lessons, I work at the Almost Free Shop, and I still drive my car and take care of my home. I thank God everyday for all of that.”
