The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad until this season was not really affected by the construction going on at Melcher-Dallas High School which has knocked out the gym and shop areas. This season, however, that is not the case, as when the gym was torn down, it also took away the Saints locker rooms. Now the locker rooms are located at the bus barn right next to the field. Convenient, because it is right next to the field, not convenient because it messes up the pregame walk, a tradition the Saints have done on game nights for several seasons. Not to worry, says Coach Pat Ferguson, he has a plan to continue that walk, a little differently.

Ferguson: “Now the kids know on Friday nights they have to go out to the bus barn and grab their stuff, get dressed in the library, and then meet out front to continue that tradition of the walk to the field.”

The Saints will open up on the road next Friday at Mormon Trail…the home opener is September second against Baxter.
