A Pella Christian High School junior is recovering from a serious injury, and the Pella Christian community and others are coming together to support the effort.
Ryan Natelborg is the son of Tim and Sonya and was coming into the new academic year as an avid cross country runner, track, and basketball athlete. Pella Christian Cross Country Head Coach Mike Buchheit says on Saturday, July 30, Ryan sustained a spinal cord injury as a result of a swimming accident in Wisconsin. He has undergone surgery at UW-Madison Hospital, and while a complete prognosis is unknown at this time, he will have a long and tedious rehabilitation. Ryan’s dad has referred to him as “Warrior,” and the Pella Christian Community is offering friends, family, and believers a chance to help through Ryan’s Warriors T-Shirts.
All proceeds from the sales will go directly to the family.
Pickup locations will be at the grade school & high school. Those with questions should contact Melissa Geetings (641-780-0408 or geetings56@gmail.com) or Jodi De Vries (641-416-0073 or rdevries@iowatelecom.net). A GoFundMe has also been set up for the family here.
