Local competitors have been honored for their work at the Iowa State Fair, including sewing, cooking, and beef breeding.
Brooklynn Sedlock of Indianola won first place and a $50 cash award in the 9 x 13 Versatility One-Pan Dish competition.
Contestants were tasked with making an award winning dish, side dish or bread that can be made in a 9 by 13 pan.
Entries were judged on taste, presentation and originality.
