It is a small but hopefully mighty duo for the Melcher-Dallas Cross Country program this fall. Just two girls and no boys are out for high school as Addison Wadle, who started the season last fall, but was unable to finish due to a hip injury, plus a freshman, Hailey Stegman. Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports both have been putting in the miles this summer and are ready to get the season started.

Stuart: “So glad to have Adi back from her year after her injury, and now Hailey is out after spending the last two years in middle school so I’m looking forward to seeing what she can do in the 5K race.”

Stuart adds that right now for both Wadle and Stegman the goal is just getting them back in form and finding a baseline for times when the Saints do start the Cross Country season. Melcher-Dallas will get the season underway next Monday at the Albia Invitational.
