The Indianola City Council approved an amendment to a city ordinance at their most recent meeting, regarding parking on the downtown Indianola square. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the county reached out about overlapping personnel who work at the Warren County Justice Center and this allowed a permitting process to take place, but the overall problem of parking on the square is an issue.
“This really opens the door to a more systemic problem, we need more parking on the square for not only patrons of businesses but city and county employees. So as the city is designing its new city hall we are looking to create a net positive in the number of parking spaces that we provide and more green space closer to the square and trying to put a great package together that really bolsters our business community.”
