Drought conditions are causing concerns for crop and livestock producers in Iowa. To help educate farmer about drought impacts,, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be hosting a free drought meeting.
Today at 1 p.m. a presentation will be held at the Marion County Extension and Outreach at 210 North Iowa Street in Knoxville.
Producers may bring five representative corn stalk samples for a quick nitrate assessment conducted on-site prior to the meeting or after the meeting.
Meeting topics include drought impacts on crops and forages, how to manage livestock and drought-stressed forage.
The meeting is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required.
