The class 4A #13 Knoxville Volleyball Squad knows there are a lot of expectations this season. Contending for and winning a South Central Conference where there are three total ranked teams in the latest Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union poll, and making a long run in the postseason. Senior player Melanie Sullivan tells KNIA/KRLS Sports after seeing several matches slip away last season when the Panthers had 2-0 set leads, the little details were emphasized hard in the offseason.

Sullivan: “We really just want to focus on what you would think was easy, but if we mess up on those things then we can’t really be successful, so that’s what we’ve focused on.”

Knoxville is 3-0 to start the season after winning all three matches in a quad on Monday night. The Panthers will play on Tuesday to start the conference in Albia. Hear a full interview with Melanie Sullivan and fellow senior teammate Emma Dunkin on the Radio Sports Page Wednesday at 6:00 and Thursday at 10:00 on KNIA/KRLS.
