The PCM Mustang football team had a successful opening night on the gridiron as they thumped the Davis County Mustangs 48-14 in Bloomfield Friday night.
PCM cruised to a huge 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and got a huge night from sophomore tailback Adrian Robbins who opened the scoring on an 18-yard scamper to paydirt with 7:08 left in the first quarter.
Coach Greg Bonnett’s PCM squad was cooking all night long behind a powerful offensive line that dominated play. The Mustangs added two more first quarter scores to lead 21-0. The second score of the night was by PCM quarterback Kaleb DeVries, who stepped into the starting lineup for the opener.
The rout continued as the Mustangs led 35-0 at halftime. The final score of the half was a 51-yard touchdown strike from DeVries to Robbins.
The continuous running clock was in force the rest of the night. Robbins also opened the second half scoring with a 47-yard touchdown strike from DeVries.
The Davis County Mustangs scored twice in the second half to make the final 48-14.
