The Pella Christian volleyball team began their season Saturday at the Skip Anderson Bondurant-Farrar Tournament and went 2-4.

The Eagles’ two wins on the day came against Holy Trinity in a 2-0 sweep (21-17, 22-20), and Williamsburg 2-1 (21-18, 15-21, 19-17). The four losses for Pella Christian were to North Polk (17-21, 16-21), Wapsie Valley (14-21, 11-21), Des Moines Roosevelt (16-21, 18-21), and Pella (18-21, 18-21). 

Chloe Huisman filled up the stat sheet Saturday for the Eagles, as she recorded 73 assists, eight aces, seven blocks, 14 digs, and three kills in the six matches. Faith Kacmarynski had a team high 41 digs on the day and added four aces, while Maggie Heinen tallied 22 kills and 19 digs.

Pella Christian will start Little Hawkeye Conference play on Tuesday with a tough match at Indianola, who is ranked #14 in Class 4A and is a perfect 8-0 to start the season.
