While the end of August has been mild and with more rounds of rainfall, a drier, warmer fall is expected. State Climatologist Justin Glisan says harvest season will be here sooner rather than later, and a lot of the state does so in drought conditions. The National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center has issued their outlook for the fall, with a solid chance for warmer than average temperatures and slightly less than normal precipitation. Severe drought remains in place locally as well, according to last week’s U.S. Drought Monitor report.
