A widespread power outage in Knoxville was reported late Sunday into this morning.
As of midnight, MidAmerican Energy reported more than 1,000 customers in the city without electricity, which has shut down many traffic lights along Highway 14 and Lincoln Street.
The issue also tripped an alarm at the Marion County Courthouse, which prompted a response from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, and the Knoxville Police Department — and at one point had pages out to Pella Fire and Knoxville Township Rural Fire for assistance, but the issue was quickly resolved.
