The class 4A #13 Knoxville Volleyball Squad will open up South Central Conference play trying to reclaim something that they let slip away last year, the conference championship. The Panthers finished 3-3 in the conference after an 0-3 start which saw them lose many of those matches after building a 2-0 lead. Nearly everyone is back this season and expectations are to win the conference, anything less is not an option. Senior players Emma Dunkin and Melanie Sullivan tell KNIA/KRLS Sports a conference title is very important to them.
Emma: “We haven’t really talked about it, but our goal is conference, we want to prove that last year we were better than what we showed.”
Melanie: “We have two things, we have details that we want to focus on, and we have shirts that say if it doesn’t challenge it doesn’t change you, so those are a couple of goals.”
Sullivan adds the little details was what separated Knoxville from winning the conference last season. The Panthers head to Albia tonight to open up conference play.
