The Pleasantville volleyball team traveled to Guthrie Center Tuesday night and won a nailbiter to pick up their first win against ACGC since joining the West Central Conference.
ACGC gained the upper hand early in the match, winning a hard fought first set 28-26. The Trojans responded with their own hard-fought win in the second set 26-24. After splitting those first two sets, the Chargers ran away with the third set 25-14. After falling behind two sets to one, Pleasantville bounced back to win the fourth set in yet another hard-fought battle 25-23. In the winner take all fifth set, the Trojans once again pulled out a nail-biting victory 15-13. Pleasantville Head Coach Joel Allman said that he was proud of how his team battled through adversity throughout the night and added that it was a great team win.
With the win Pleasantville improved to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Trojans are now off until Thursday, September 8th when they will host a triangular with Mount Ayr and Clarke.
