Area communities are rallying around a Pella Christian High School cross country athlete who was severely injured in a swimming accident this summer.
Ryan Natelborg is a junior on Eagle Lane who lives in Prairie City, and several fundraisers are ongoing to support his long road to recovery — on July 30th, Ryan was in Wisconsin with friends and family when he sustained trauma to his spinal cord. He has since undergone surgery at UW-Madison Hospital and has just started a long and tedious rehabilitation which soon moves to Colorado, according to his mom Sonya, who is thankful for those who have reached out to help.
Ryan’s dad has referred to him as “Warrior,” and a community of friends, family, and believers want to uplift the Natelborg family in this battle by offering Ryan’s Warriors T-Shirts, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the family. The deadline to order the shirt is this Friday. Additionally, the PCM and Pella Christian football teams are coming together on September 9th on Eagle Lane, with all fans encouraged to bring donations and a note of support for Ryan Natelborg. Find out how to help the family at KNIAKRLS.com, and tune into a special feature about Natelborg during this week’s Jeromy Dingeman Concrete Football Friday Night Radio Preview Show at 4:30 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
