The Simpson Storm men’s and women’s cross country teams swept the Buxton Invitational Friday evening in their season opener, while the Storm volleyball squad went 2-0 in Wisconsin to begin their campaign.
The Storm men were led by three top five finishes, with Spencer Moon in 2nd, Andrew Klein in 3rd, and Louden Foster in 5th scoring 30 team points. The Storm women also had three top five finishes, Lara Kallem in 2nd, Teghan Booth in 4th, and Emma Angus in 5th as they scored 18 points as a squad. Both teams compete in Grinnell next Saturday.
Simpson volleyball took down Martin Luther 3-1, winning 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, and 25-18, then did the same against Beloit going 3-1 winning 25-20, 25-15, 21-25, 25-12. The Storm improve to 2-0, and continue tournament play today in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
