A local organization dedicated to historic preservation is preparing for its annual meeting with a name change. Historic Pella Trust — soon to be named the Pella Preservation Trust, is gathering on Tuesday, September 20th at the Pella Opera House. Director of the Organization Jennifer Van Kooten says a special presentation will be given by Preservationist Bobby Green, proprietor of 1933 Group. Green has brought business back to many historic landmark buildings in the Los Angeles, California area. Doors open at 5:00 for refreshments and membership sign up, with donations accepted to help protect Pella’s historic properties, and the program starting at 6 p.m. Historic Pella Trust is in the process of changing their name to Pella Preservation Trust, with the goal to remain the same organization that began 28 years ago, but the change is coming to avoid confusion with other local historic organizations.
