After dropping the first set in their first home match of the season Tuesday night, the Pella Christian volleyball team rallied back to defeat Grinnell 3-1, with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, and 25-21.
The Eagles sophomores shined in the win over the Tigers. Chloe Huisman did a little bit of everything, as she recorded 10 kills, 23 assists, three aces, eight digs, and a block. Faith Kacmarynski went 20-20 serving with an ace, and added 29 digs and 10 assists, whileEmma Eekhoff tallied nine kills, 11 assists, and 14 digs. Ema Zula, one of Pella Christian’s two juniors, contributed eight kills, four aces, 15 digs, and a block en route to the Eagles 13th win over Grinnell in their last 14 meetings.
The win improved Pella Christian’s record to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Eagles are off tonight, before hosting Woodward-Granger on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
