After having several metrics determine they played against Class 4A’s toughest schedule last fall, those measurements are saying the same for a beleaguered Pella football team that heads to #9 Indianola this evening.
The Dutch (0-2) had one of their best offensive performances of the season in 2021 against the newest of their intense cross-sport rivals from the Little Hawkeye Conference, and after a rough start to this season, the Dutch are hoping for a similar effort against their third consecutive ranked foe.
Pella’s defense improved after having difficulty with the high-powered Norwalk offense, with Indianola having a similar structure with speed on the outside — headlined by Drew Kingery, and a strong passer in Bennett Brueck, and that explosive ability will be a tough task again, according to head coach Jay McKinstrey.
Coverage of the Pella broadcast from the Dutch vs. Indians begins at 6:30 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS, with kickoff at 7.
