Despite shaving seven shots off the previous day’s score, the Central College women’s golf team lost ground finishing in 11th place out of 23 teams at the Wartburg Fall Invitational Sunday, after shooting a 330-323—653 at the par-72 Prairie Links Golf Course.

The Dutch were 10th after the suspended first round was completed Sunday morning but American Rivers foe the University of Dubuque slipped past them in the afternoon, taking 10th at 333-316—649.

Delaney Underwood was the team’s top finisher for the second consecutive week, tying for 21st at 78-77–155 while Thea Lunning tied for 25th at 79-78–157. Mackenzie Biggs shot 85-84–169, Madison Clark shot 88-84–172 and Peyton Bytnar had 91-87–178. Playing as at-large entrants, Lydia Grond shot 82-80—162 to tie for 42nd while Rachel Sohn had 90-80—170 and Parker Stout shot 93-81—174.

Central competes next Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic at the par-72 Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. The Dutch were 12th in a 20-team field there last fall.
